Arsenal linked with shock move for two-time Premier League winner set to star at the World Cup
The Gunners have had a fantastic start to the season. Mikel Arteta's side leads the table by five points, with Manchester City in second place.
Arsenal will need to add depth to their squad in order to maintain their title charge after the World Cup.
As Arteta looks for January replacements, the Gunners have been linked with Shakhtar Donetsk stars Mykhaylo Mudryk and Facundo Torres.According to a report, former Manchester City winger Sane has emerged as a surprise target for the Gunners.
Sane to Arsenal?
According to 90min, Sane is "considering his options" at Bayern Munich after failing to break into Julian Nagelsmann's starting lineup this season.
Arsenal is said to be one of the clubs interested in signing the winger, who would relieve the pressure on Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
Indeed, with the World Cup placement resulting in a crowded fixture list, squad depth will become especially important in the second half of the season. However, Bayern Munich reportedly has no plans to let Sane leave in the middle of the season.
The club has yet to replace striker Robert Lewandowski and is said to want to finish the season with the options they already have.
While Sane is said to be considering his future at Bayern Munich, he is not expected to push for a transfer and believes manager Nagelsmann will give him a fair chance to prove his worth.
Arsenal are also ready to act on their long-held interest in Danilo, a 21-year-old midfielder.
The Brazilian defensive midfielder has long been on the radar of European clubs, including Arsenal, who are looking to add midfield cover for Xhaka and Thomas Partey.
