In honor of BMW M's 50th anniversary, only 50 3.0 CSLs will be made. BMW has unveiled the all-new 3.0 CSL, its most exciting vehicle for 2022.To commemorate the BMW M's 50th anniversary this year, only 50 sequentially numbered examples will be produced. They will feature BMW's most potent road-going straight-six, a six-speed manual transmission, and rear-wheel drive.

Each 3.0 CSL will be manufactured at BMW's Dingolfing plant in Germany, which also produces components for Rolls-Royce automobiles. The 50-unit production run will take approximately three months to complete.Hand-made components like the interior components made of plastic reinforced with carbon fiber are one example.Over 200 hours were spent optimizing the vehicle's airflow and aerodynamic balance, including 50 hours spent in the wind tunnel fine-tuning its throwback styling elements to be as effective as possible. The exterior is also quite unique.

However, power is what really matters to you, and this has a lot of it.It is claimed that the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine has 552 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. However, these are just numbers on paper, and BMW M vehicles have a history of under- or over-delivering, as was the case with the M4 CSL, on which this vehicle is loosely based.

The gear knob has a white surface and an engraved gearshift diagram that make it look like the original E9 3.0 CSL.You get a shift assistant that manages clutch slip automatically because this is a modern vehicle; however, if you are serious about connecting with the vehicle, you can disable this feature. You get an Active M Differential and an Adaptive M Suspension, as with other M products.

M carbon-ceramic brakes with adjustable characteristic curves are also included, with discs measuring 400x38 millimeters and six-piston fixed calipers in the front. On 380 x 28 mm discs, single-piston fixed calipers bite down in the rear. The front and back calipers are introduced in red, yet you might be more keen on the middle lock wheels. These forged light-alloy wheels have Y-spokes and are 20 inches wide at the front and 21 inches wide at the back. These race-inspired rims, which have gold paint and a center-locking nut, are torqued at 686 lb-ft, which is the highest value for any BMW Group production vehicle. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S sidewalls bear the number 50, which indicates that the tires were designed specifically for the vehicle.

The bodywork almost certainly has an impact if these components do not.The modern special edition promises outstanding traction and aerodynamic balance thanks to a wing based on the original 3.0 CSL Batmobile and a carbon diffuser in the rear apron. The titanium rear silencer and the filigree laser light threads in the taillights, both of which were first seen on the M4 CSL earlier this year, are additional highlights of the rear end.The trunk lid, the hood, the front fascia, the rear fascia, the roof, and the rocker panels are all brand-new carbon fiber components. The CSL comes with the iconic M tricolor theme over a base Alpine White unibody, but from a distance, you can't tell that the roof spoiler, which is made of glass fiber-reinforced plastic, is light. Notably, the striped livery and the white base color are applied by hand, and a process that BMW developed specifically for this vehicle paints 22 individual parts. The lettering on the roof and the rear wing, on the other hand, are left exposed. Each vehicle undergoes 134 paint processes, totaling 6,700 manual work sequences in the paint shop for the entire 50 vehicles, which takes six working days to finish with a livery paint finish.

Evidently, those rumors that this was a handcrafted special edition were false.Bucket seats, door panels, dash trims, and the center console all contain additional carbon on the interior. An alcantara steering wheel, anthracite roof liner, and black Alcantara upholstery are offset by a red start/stop button and white contrast stitching that match what you get from the body. Behind the seats, there is a spot for storing a pair of crash helmets.

Overall, you get more power and a cabin and body that are truly unique, but you get less torque because the manual probably can't handle the extra 74 lb-ft from the M4 Competition and M4 CSL.Since only 50 will be made, your venture is unlikely to degrade, but local accessibility is yet to be uncovered. However, BMW has informed us that the anticipated asking price is correct: a shocking €750,000, or more than $780.000 of our money. Pain is truly beautiful.
