Mykhaylo Mudryk, a sought-after attacker who is excelling with Shakhtar Donetsk, has drawn similarities to PSG and Brazilian sensation Neymar.

The 'Ukrainian Neymar' is expected to be signed by Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Clubs all over Europe are interested in Mykhaylo Mudryk, and Newcastle is one of those clubs. The 21-year-old wing wonder from Shakhtar Donetsk has caught the eye of many.

However, experts claim that the Arsenal have the basic elements of a deal in place after Shakhtar drastically decreased their reportedly close to £90 million initial demands.

It is now believed that they would accept about £40 million plus any prospective add-ons.

Mudryk's desire to partner up with Oleksandr Zinchenko, a teammate from Ukraine who recently transferred to Arsenal from Manchester City for £32 million, is another advantage for the Gunners.

Mudryk had said that he believed Shakhtar's original asking price "wounded" his desire to join one of Europe's premier clubs.

Mudryk told Sport Arena, "I wasn't just astonished; I was shocked when I found out about my price.

"I have a long-term contract with Shakhtar, and I give Shakhtar all of my strength and energy to help them achieve their goals. However, every football player has the desire to play for a great club in a top league, and I am no different.

Mudryk made his senior debut during the 2018–19 season after progressing through the Shakhtar academy divisions.

He has made 18 appearances this season and has scored 10 goals in all competitions. He stood out in the Champions League group stage, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

Since Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are Mikel Arteta's only reliable backup alternatives, Arsenal has made adding a winger to their roster a top priority.

After winning 12 of their first 14 games, the Gunners have had an outstanding start to the season and currently sit atop the Premier League.

While some supporters might be hesitant to shake things up with midseason additions, others are fervently hoping that Emirates Stadium officials will splash the dough during the January transfer window to bolster Arsenal's title challenge.

Arsenal spent nearly £100 million on players last summer, including Zinchenko, Gabriel Jesus from City, and Fabio Vieira from Porto.

How much of the transfer war chest is still available for additional hiring during the January window is still unknown.
