The truth regarding Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes will soon be revealed to Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo was ecstatic after Portugal's Monday night match against Uruguay ended with a goal from a header. Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes joined in on the celebration after Ronaldo thought he had scored his second World Cup goal.

Although it appeared that Fernandes gave Ronaldo an assist, goal replays revealed that the midfielder had scored the goal. Although FIFA first gave Ronaldo credit for the goal, Fernandes will be remembered as having scored it, much to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's displeasure.

Fernandes scored his second World Cup goal in the dying seconds of the game after Portugal was handed a questionable penalty. Ronaldo would have taken the shot if he had been left on the field since he was replaced off the field before Uruguay gave away the penalty. He would have gone to bed believing he had been denied two World Cup goals.

In an interview with Piers Morgan this month, Ronaldo claimed that he "does not seek records; records chase him." However, Lionel Messi is currently chasing Ronaldo, not records, which is something he will be aware of given that this will be his final World Cup.

Ronaldo hopes to add to his eight World Cup goals, which Messi already has.

"I had the impression that Cristiano touched the ball. I was handing him the ball, "After the game, Fernandes courteously informed reporters. What important is that we defeated a very challenging opponent and advanced to the next round.

However, his close friend Edu Aguirre had suggested that the Portuguese Federation would provide evidence to FIFA to prove that Portugal's goal was his. The replays appear to indicate that if Ronaldo did get a touch, it was his hair lubricating the ball.

the case,

It completely reveals Ronaldo's character and self-centered goals. Ronaldo puts himself before the team and trying to steal a goal from Fernandes, with whom he has spent so much time, just makes the situation worse.

Thankfully, FIFA and Adidas have resolved the situation and acknowledged Fernandes as the goal scorer.

Although Fernandes said last week that playing with Ronaldo at Old Trafford was a "dream come true," the 28-year-old may be relieved that the player has left the club. Ronaldo and Fernandes have teamed up for Portugal ever since the latter made his international debut.

He has consistently insisted that sharing a team with Ronaldo has not harmed his performances, although the evidence points to the contrary. After Ronaldo re-signed, Fernandes' impact in the final third decreased, and the statistics are telling.

When Ronaldo was not at the club, Fernandes scored 43 goals and assisted 25 times in 83 games. However, in the 63 games, he has played since the five-time Ballon d'Or winner made his comeback against Newcastle last year, Fernandes has scored 10 goals and assisted 17 times.
