Whether you think Mohammed Kudus is a midfielder or a center-forward, one thing is certain. Ajax's Ghana international has "the knack" for finding pockets of space inside the penalty area and taking chances with ruthless precision.

Kudus has scored 12 goals for club and country this season in all competitions. And it's not just the number of goals, but also the variety of them, that distinguishes the former Nordsjaellend talisman as a potentially world-leading talent.

Those nail-biting finishes against Liverpool and Rangers in the Champions League group stages were a sight to behold. Kudus, however, demonstrated a different, more predatory side of his game during Ghana's dramatic 3-2 win over South Korea on Monday, adding some flesh to the bones of the argument that his future lies not as a number eight, but as a number nine."Kudus is the best player at the World Cup right now," former Ghana star Kevin-Prince Boeteng tells Sport1.

"What he can do with the ball is incredible." After his experience at Ajax, it's only a matter of time before he moves on to a world-class club."

Mohammed Kudus has been dubbed "the best player in the World Cup."

Arsenal, according to 90Min, has inquired about Kudus' availability during the Qatar World Cup. The jet-set 22-year-old was'very close' to joining Everton last summer and refuses to rule out a January move from Ajax.Kudus is not the only World Cup goal scorer on Arsenal's radar. According to France Bleu, Arsenal would likely be first in line if Financial Fair Play pressures forced Paris Saint-Germain to sell Carlos Soler just months after signing the Spain international from Valencia in a £21 million deal.

Soler has only appeared in four Ligue 1 games so far. He is unquestionably one of the more affordable and approachable members of this expensively assembled PSG squad. The former Los Che captain is not quite as prolific as Kudus. But he, too, has a keen eye for goal. Soler scored in double figures in his final two seasons at Valencia and has three already in 12 games at PSG.He has quite a few penalties on his record. Including a hat-trick of penalty kicks in a 4-1 thrashing of Real Madrid. But Soler also has an almost Lampard-like ability to burst into the box before finishing emphatically. He's also quite good in the air.

Soler's finish in Spain's 7-0 thrashing of Costa Rica was typical of the man. Arriving late into the penalty area before slamming a loose ball into the back of Keylor Navas' net.Is Mikel Arteta looking to add more of a final-third threat to his midfield with Arsenal monitoring Soler and Kudus? Martin Odegaard and Granit Xhaka are both proving to be consistent goal scorers, while Fabio Vieira and the returning Emil Smith Rowe can also finish. Soler and Kudus, on the other hand, are perhaps more natural finishers than any of the aforementioned quartet; more adept at running beyond the striker and getting on the end of crosses.

"We know where we are," Arteta said after Arsenal's 3-1 EFL Cup defeat to Brighton, a result that highlighted the lack of quality depth in his title-chasing squad. (And) we knew the squad was in trouble the moment we suffered certain injuries.Soler or Kudus would undoubtedly be of assistance in this regard. After all, there can never be too many goal scorers.
