REAL MADRID REKINDLE INTEREST IN MANCHESTER UNITED SUPERSTAR SHINING AT THE WORLD CUP
Real Madrid renews their interest in Manchester United's World Cup star.
According to the Portuguese publication Record, Manchester United superstar Bruno Fernandes is back on Real Madrid's radar after an impressive season for both club and country. The 28-year-old joined Manchester United from Sporting CP in January 2020 and has established himself as one of the Premier League's best playmakers.
Fernandes has 53 goals and 42 assists in 146 appearances for the Red Devils, distinguishing himself as a top player despite the team's struggles to reach previous heights.
Now, Bruno Fernandes is lighting up the World Cup with Portugal, having already scored two goals and provided two assists in two games, helping his country advance to the Round of 16.According to the report, the attacking midfielder's exploits have put him back on Real Madrid's radar. Los Blancos had reportedly been following Fernandes since his time at Sporting CP and could now re-sign him.
It is widely assumed that Real Madrid will look for a new midfielder in the summer as Luka Modric approaches the end of his career and Toni Kroos has yet to sign a contract extension.
Jude Bellingham has been touted as Real Madrid's top target, but his signing is complicated due to a high price tag and intense competition for his services.
There has recently been interest in SL Benfica's Argentine striker Enzo Fernandez, but his valuation is unclear.Fernandes is now being mentioned as another player on Real Madrid's radar. According to the report, the 28-year-old is content and happy at Manchester United. He would, however, be open to taking the next step in his career.
The report makes no mention of the Red Devils' stance on their star player. But, earlier this year, they gave him a new contract, extending his stay at Old Trafford until 2026. So it's safe to assume they won't let go of their main man without a fight.
