Vincent Aboubakar scored a famous goal on Friday night to give the Indomitable Lions a historic World Cup victory over Brazil. But what happened moments after the goal went viral on social media in an instant.

Brazil, one of the first teams to reach the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 in Qatar, had never before lost a World Cup match against an African country or a group game in this century, having not conceded a single goal or given their opponent a chance at goal. Cameroon last won a FIFA World Cup game in South Korea 20 years ago, when Samuel Eto's winner separated the team from Saudi Arabia in a group game. Cameroon had the odds stacked against them, but they did not disappoint their legend Eto, who was present at the Lusail Iconic Stadium on Friday night, as Vincent Aboubakar scored a famous goal to hand the Indomitable Lions victory. But what happened moments after the goal went viral on social media in an instant.

Brazil had a better first half and had numerous chances to break the deadlock in the second half. But it was Cameroon who took the lead in stoppage time, when a right-flank cross from Jerome Ngom Mbekeli found Boubakar inside the box. The captain headed home the game-winning goal past Brazil goalkeeper Ederson to give Cameroon a historic World Cup victory in Qatar. However, he received a second yellow card and was sent off for removing his shirt during the celebration. He'd dropped his short near the corner flag and waited for his teammates to rush toward him. The referee's gesture, however, went viral. He immediately approached Aboubakar after completing the goal celebration with his teammates and dapped the Cameroon captain before dismissing him.

Despite Boubakar's stunning performance, Cameroon were eliminated from the knockout round. Brazil won the group, while Switzerland, which defeated Serbia 3-2 at Stadium 974, was the last team to qualify for the Round of 16.
