Despite developing a close bond with Jude Bellingham while serving as a teammate for England, Trent Alexander-Arnold has downplayed reports that he is trying to convince the midfielder to sign with Liverpool.

Bellingham has been one of the Three Lions' most impressive players thus far in the World Cup. Both players are now in Qatar with the England team. As he continues to excel on the international stage, the 19-year-old has started each of England's three group games and scored in the opening victory over Iran.

Though he hasn't played as much as his teammate, Alexander-Arnold has been growing close to the Borussia Dortmund star off the field. He only made one appearance from the bench in the victory over Wales.. The two spent some time together on Wednesday night, 24 hours after England was guaranteed a spot in the round of 16.

On his Instagram page, Alexander-Arnold posted a photo of himself with Bellingham with the message, "Stroll through the city with Bro." Bellingham responded, "My brother," in answer.

Given the ongoing rumors tying Bellingham with a move to Anfield, Liverpool fans jumped on the connection between the two with excitement, thinking there might be more to it. "Agent Trent understands his assignment," one fan remarked.

Alexander-Arnold was questioned about the response to his tweet on BBC Radio 5 Live and told: "Your little stroll has acquired quite a lot of momentum, hasn't it?"

The full-back grinned broadly and chuckled, but he said he was just recording some of the memories he was creating while in the Middle East. He remarked, "I'm simply going out with a friend, aren't I? "Despite everyone claiming to be Agent Trent,

We had the day off yesterday, so a few of us went out and had a good time.

Some keen-eyed fans also noticed that the image, which was taken in front of Lusail's Crescent Tower, also included trees that had been illuminated by a red glare in the background, implying that it was a gesture towards Bellingham envisioning his future in similar hues.

In answer, Alexander-Arnold said: "No, of course not. We simply chose to take a picture. Few people can say they have attended a World Cup because they only happen occasionally or once in a lifetime. Therefore, getting some pictures on board is a good idea. That's what we tried to do.
