Sources within the companies claim that discussions are heating up worldwide just a day apart.

CarBuzz recently reported on what appeared to be a somewhat concrete conclusion to negotiations between Mitsubishi, Nissan, and Renault.Since the disgraced former boss Carlos Ghosn left Japan, the three brands have struggled to come to an agreement on their partnership.

Bloomberg has been informed by insiders in the talks that a new path has emerged. The first meeting was scheduled for December 7 in London.By the end of the year, there was to be an announcement about the partnership. With the December 7 sit-down reportedly over, Nissan CEO Makato Uchida has flown to France ahead of schedule for talks.Uchida is said to be attending the alliance's board meeting on Tuesday at the Renault headquarters in Boulogne-Billancourt.Bloomberg has not identified the sources, despite being asked to do so by them. So, it's not clear if these are the same sources who said something about the London talks on December 7. We think they might be.

These sources confirmed that the automakers' initial London meeting will be postponed in favor of these Paris talks. As Nissan works to expand its electric lineup with models like the Ariya, Renault is urging Nissan to invest in its EV business, Ampere.

According to reports, Nissan would exchange a 15% stake in the brand for a stake in Ampere worth anywhere from $500 million to $700 million. As previously mentioned, Nissan insists on a more equal partnership with Renault. As of this writing, Renault owns approximately 43% of Nissan, but Nissan does not even have the right to vote in Renault. The Japanese automaker believes that stake should continuously diminish to somewhere near 15% over an unknown timeframe.

Bloomberg was informed on Thursday by Nissan's Uchida that the company is in talks "every day" with Renault about ways to take the alliance "to the next step" while making it "stronger together."
