 594 community police assistants passed out at Ho 


Out of the five hundred and ninety-four (594), one hundred and twenty-nine (129) made up of both male and female are from Volta, eighty (80) from Oti and three hundred and eighty-nine (389) from the Eastern region.

Speaking at the ceremony, the regional director of YEA Mr. Emmanuel Kwamena Quarshie noted that, YEA’s strategic recruitment objective of CPAs for 2022 formed part of the initiative to engage young men and women to support and augment the Ghana police force to increase visibility in the various communities.


He said, the training is in three batches and the second batch will commence in the coming days.

He observed that the CPAs have demonstrated competence and ability during their last engagement which ended in August and again demonstrated same physical prowess and talent throughout the short but intensive training.

Mr Quarshie noted that other modules currently running apart from community policing assistants includes Community Health Workers (CHW), Youths in prison service and Youths in Sanitation.

He said, youth in Arabic education module is also earmarked and will be rolled out soon adding that, other module such as Youth in Agriculture and Afforestation, Community Education Training Assistants, Youth in ICT, Youth in Coastal Sanitation and Youth in Entrepreneurship are under consideration and shall be rolled out next year (2023).

He said, the Agency has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a private road construction company to engage varied professionals including artisans for projects.


He said the YEA portal is open for prospective artisans and other job seekers for job opportunities.

Mr Quarshie remarked that, youth unemployment has become a global security threat and Ghana is no exception adding that, it is on this basis that the Youth Employment Agency was established in 2015 to facilitate and provide job opportunities for the youth.
