FIRE OUTBREAK AT BANK OF GHANA UNTRUE

According to Bank of Ghana, the rumors within the general public about fire outbreak at the bank on December 8 is false and should be ignored and disregarded. There was a little bit of curiosity within the general public and on social media when Adom Fm posted a video on their socials hours ago today.

The communique issued by Bank of Ghana says:

"REPORTS ABOUT A FIRE OUTBREAK AT BANK OF GHANA UNTRUE"

"Bank of Ghana has taken note of reports circulating on social media that the Bank has been gutted by fire. The general public is advised to disregard the reports. The Bank, today, Thursday,8th December 2022, conducted a routine fire drill (simulation exercise) to prepare staff for real-time fire situation. The exercise was conducted in collaboration with the Ghana National Fire Service, the National Ambulance Service and the Ghana Police Service. As a public facility, routine fire drill is necessary for testing the efficiency and preparedness of the Bank�s safety systems to manage emergencies like fires, and inculcate in the staff of the Bank fire safety evacuation procedures. Bank of Ghana by this medium cautions against false reportage intended to create fear and panic in the country."

The spread of false information and rumors poses growing risks to society and the economy so therefore we urge the general public to seek for certified news source and not to be in a hurry to spread any news they come across as well. The video posted on ADOM FM twitter page can be watched by clicking on the link below this news feed. As it has been stated clearly in the communique released by Bank of Ghana, the general public should therefore ignore all untrue rumors about the fire outbreak.
