KANE'S MISSED PENALTY: HOW ENGLISH MEDIA HAVE BEEN SILENT COMPARED TO WHAT HAPPENED DURING EURO 2020

England, despite being considered a contender for the current World Cup tournament, has been eliminated from the competition, with Olivier Giroud scoring the winning goal for France Saturday following Aurelien Tchouameni's opener.

However, with the potential tying penalty missed by Harry Kane yesterday, it is surprising that the perceived active English media is not discussing this.

This is especially true given the significance of the penalty if successfully converted by the Tottenham Hotspur striker, as well as what happened during the previous European Championship tournament, when the likes of Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka missed penalties in shootouts against Italy.

Rashford, Saka, and Sancho were subjected to racist remarks from their own fans, and the media focused even more on their missed shots.

It is therefore surprising that Kane's own performance against France at that crucial point in the game has gone unmentioned.

England players adopt stray cat they found at World Cup training camp, the cat is coming home

England will not be returning home empty-handed from the World Cup after all, thanks to a new furry friend.

The Three Lions were defeated by France in the World Cup quarter-finals over the weekend, but it wasn't all bad news for some of the England players.

The players were packing to return home, but this time they would be accompanied by a new mascot.

While training at the Al Wakrah hotel base, Defenders Kyle Walker and John Stones met a cat named Dave.

Every night during their four-week stay, the cat would follow the players and wait for food.

"He was just there one day so we've just adopted him, me and Stonesy," Walker told the FA's official media channel during England's World Cup campaign, according to the Express.

"Dave is welcome to join us at the table...

Some people dislike the cat, but I adore him," he explained. The stray also got into a fight with another cat in the days leading up to the team's match against France. Maybe the other stray was betting on France?

Stones was asked about Dave after the catfight before the quarter-final match.

"Dave is fine," he explained. "He got into a fight with another cat the other night." I believe they are squabbling over territory and food. He is, however, doing well."Hopefully, I can keep my promise to bring him home with us if we win the World Cup." Dave is fine, thank you for inquiring."

Dave arrived two hours after the squad. He'll go to a nearby veterinary clinic for blood tests and vaccinations before being quarantined for four months.

According to The Guardian, either Walker or Stones will adopt Dave.

However, Dave isn't the only cat who has stolen the show during the tournament.

According to the New York Post, during Brazil's press conference before the match against Croatia, a media official stunned journalists by allowing a cat on the podium.Vinicius Jr struggled to keep his cool while answering a reporter's question as the cat took a seat next to him.

As the forward burst into laughter, the media official grabbed the cat and tossed it to the ground, leaving journalists gasping.
