Anthony Martial, on the other hand, scored 17 goals in the 2015/16 season and 23 goals in the 2019/20 season to become Manchester United's all-time leading scorer in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.However, in his first full season, Bruno Fernandes scored 28 goals, making him Manchester United's top scorer in all competitions. Furthermore, when Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United from Juventus, he scored over 20 goals in the 2021/22 season to finish as the club's top scorer, but he failed to replicate that success in the 2022/23 season.
Nonetheless, Manchester United terminated Ronaldo's contract before the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. However, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku finished as Manchester United's top scorers in the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons, respectively. Marcus Rashford currently has eight goals in all competitions for the Red Devils, and he has a good chance of finishing the season as the club's top scorer.

Manchester United target ready to take pay cut to join Real Madrid instead
Achraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain is said to be willing to take a pay cut to rejoin Real Madrid.
Hakimi, 24, has cemented his reputation as one of the world's best full-backs with a string of impressive World Cup performances for Morocco.
Hakimi has been instrumental in his country's advancement to the tournament's semi-finals, where they will face defending champions France on Wednesday night.
Morocco became the first African team to reach the World Cup's last four after defeating Portugal in the quarter-finals, just days after Hakimi scored the game-winning penalty in a shootout against Spain in the round of 16.Hakimi, who was born in Madrid to Moroccan parents, is reportedly interested in returning to Real Madrid, where he began his professional career.
The right-back made just a few first-team appearances for Real Madrid before being loaned out to Borussia Dortmund for two seasons before being sold to Inter Milan in 2020.
After only one year in Italy, he moved to PSG, where he has made 62 appearances and scored seven goals.
Hakimi is eager to return to Real Madrid.
Real Madrid is reportedly considering a bid for the defender, who was also linked with Manchester United during the summer transfer window.According to Relevo, Hakimi would be "delighted" to return to Real Madrid and would even take a pay cut to secure a return to the European and Spanish champions.
PSG, on the other hand, is said to be hesitant to sell Hakimi, who is under contract with the French club until 2026.
At the World Cup, Hakimi will face Mbappe.
While his club career is still being discussed, Hakimi's immediate focus will be on Wednesday's historic World Cup semi-final against France.
He will face PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe, and Morocco head coach Walid Regragui anticipates an intense battle between the two stars of their respective national teams."It's going to be a fantastic duel," Regragui told reporters on Tuesday.
"They're both champions and world-class players, and they'll be going at it.
"We should concentrate on how we can cause problems for France... Kylian's threat will have to be countered.
"However, I have no doubt that Hakimi will be in top form to beat his friend."
