It may take some time for Manchester United to reach the heights attained in 2007/08, when they won the UEFA Champions League. This was the last time Manchester United won the Champions League, and they have yet to win it since. Cristiano Ronaldo is the final Manchester United player from the 2007/08 squad to leave the club after his contract was mutually terminated.

Manchester United's previous champions league XI included Vidic, Rooney, Ronaldo, Van der Sar, Scholes, Hargreaves, Tevez, Evra, Carrick, Rio Ferdinand, and Brown.

Except for Ronaldo, all of the players from the champions league-winning squad of 2006/07. The majority of the players are now on the boards of directors of various European clubs. Van der Saar is the sporting director at Ajax Amsterdam, and there was once talk of him returning to Manchester United, which he denied.

Michael Carrick, on the other hand, managed a few games as caretaker manager at Manchester United before leaving to pursue his managerial career.

Furthermore, Rooney was a key figure in the 2007/08 UEFA Champions League triumph, but he is now the manager of DC United in the MLS. The success of Manchester United's 2007/08 squad is one of the most talked about at the club, given that they not only won the Champions League that season, but also their 10th Premier League title.
