Incoming Chelsea signing David Datro Fofana likened to Haaland
Chelsea target David Datro Fofana has been compared to Manchester City midfielder Erling Haaland.Chelsea are set to sign Datro after reaching an agreement with Molde for a fee in the region of £8.6 million.
Molde manager Erling Moe was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's assistant before taking over as interim manager when he left for Manchester United, and he took a young Haaland under his wing before moving to RB Salzburg. While Datro is a different type of player than the prolific Norwegian, he admits the two have some similarities.
"Drawing lines between two such players is difficult," Moe explained. "They are two distinct individuals. [Datro] joined us when he was very young, and he spent a lot of time getting to know himself, both with football and in other ways. He's getting better and better. It was similar to that."We've seen that when you play Molde, almost anything is possible. Erling has recently joined Manchester City, so why not?
"As long as he works hard in everyday life and wants to improve every day, that's a pretty realistic goal, but he still has a lot to prove here in Molde as well. He needs to fight at a high level first, and then we'll see where things go."
