THE TWO FEMALE GHANIAN STARS WHO'S LIVES GOT SHORTEN BY ACCIDENT

The Ghanaian movie and music industry over the years, have been blessed with many young and talented stars.

Some of these Young Stars includes; Awal Mohammed (Ghanaian Rapper), Terry Bonchaka Yaw Dabo- Adwen Kesie (Kumawood Star), Maame Serwaa (Kumawood Star), Abraham Attah (Beast Of No Nation), and many more.

These young, talented, inspirational and hardworking Ghanaian celebrities, are people who used their natural abilities, to entertain people home and abroad. Their big names and unlimited gifts also help lift the name of Ghana high across the globe.

Where as many of these up and coming ' stars' still live with us; ' shaking' our screens, and giving us the best of their skills; the talents of some have also come to abrupt end; either though death or other causes.

In this article, we talk briefly about two of these young Ghanaian stars, who' s lives got ' cut- short' , just when their hard works were about to ' touch the sky'. 


PRISCILLA OPOKU- KWATENG. Popularly known on the stage as Ebony Reigns, Miss Priscilla Opoku- Kwarteng was a Ghanaian dancehall/Afrobeats artist. She was born on 16 February 1997, to father Nana Poku Kwarteng and mother, Beatrice Oppong- Marthin in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Ebony Reign was discovered by a former Ghana musician known as Bullet. Her first single song; " Dancefloor" , which came with a video and an audio, was released in December 2015. After that, Ebony started releasing many hit songs; most of which became radio hits; landing her with nominations and Awards.

Some of Ebony' s hit songs includes Kupe, Turn On The Light, Aseda, Real, Idiot, Twerk, Shade, Sponsor, Kupe, Maame Hw3, Poison, Hustle, Date your Father, Konkonsa Police and many more.

Miss Priscilla Opoku- Kwarteng did not only win the hearts of many Ghanaian home and abroad, but also had to her credit many big awards which includes; 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards- Artist of the Year, 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards- Afro Pop Song of the Year, 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards- Album of the Year, 2017 Bass Awards- Artiste of the Year, 2017 People' s Celebrity Awards- Favourite Female Musician, and many more.


Ebony was one of the most favourite and Influential Female Musicians in Ghana. Her name and songs also became the ringing tone in almost every Ghanaian' s home, until the sad news of her death was announced on 8 February 2018.


The Young Dancehall artist died instantly in a car accident whilst returning to Accra from Sunyani, after a brief visit to her mother.

Till today, the songs of Ebony still play in the mind of her fans here in Ghana and around the world; with many still wondering; how a universally beloved figure, with such great talent and countless media appearances to her name, can just cease to exist in a matter of few minutes.


SUZZY WILLIAMS: Actress Suzzy Williams was a well- known Ghanaian television and film actor, who' s talent lifted the flag and name of Ghana high both in Africa and around the world.

Suzzzy's career as an actress started when she stared in a hit movie entitled, 'Together Forever'. After gaining some popularity, she continued to starred in many more movies such as Bloody Mary, Calamity, The Comforter and Mother' s Heart.

She continued to gain massive popularity in her role as 'Sharon Stone', a popular Ghanaian TV series called, 'The Sun City'. 

Some of her most popular movies are: Yaa Asantewaa, Official Prostitute, Fresh Trouble, The Comforter, Ugly Side of Beauty, The Chosen One, War for War, Together Forever, Lover Boy In Ghana, and A Touch of Love.


On September 8 2005, Suzzy Williams and her boyfriend got involved in a fatal car accident on the La- Nungua highway. The accident occurred near the La- Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra. She died instantly in the crash at the age of 23.

As the popular saying goes", There's something eerily personal about a celebrity's passing. They might be dead, but their artistry still shines through; their work is still available to be cherished and adapted and celebrated an infinite number of times over".

Though Ebony Reign and Suzzy Williams are no longer with us, their foot- prints still live in our hearts.
