With the FIFA World Cup over, the focus has shifted to club football, with many clubs preparing for action. And, with more than half of the season still to go, many clubs will be reluctant to start the season poorly.

Meanwhile, one team who will be looking to build on their positive trajectory this season is Manchester United. And, with the majority of their players having just returned from the World Cup, it will be interesting to see how Ten Hag manages these players. However, during the world cup tournament, some players put in some eye-catching performances that will surely give ten hag food for thought.

After the World Cup, Manchester United's strongest lineup

More than ten Manchester United first-team players competed in the World Cup. So the red devils have both an advantage and a disadvantage. The advantage is that the majority of their players will be in top form for the restart. And the disadvantage is that most of them might not return before the restart.

Here's how strong Manchester United could look when they return to club football.

Goalkeeper: David De Gea

David De Gea was not selected for the World Cup, but he will undoubtedly remain Manchester United's first-choice goalkeeper.

Upfront, Marcus Rashford, and Antony could provide the perfect support for Anthony Martial.

Gunners warned about Ronaldo

Arsenal have been warned against completing a "disaster" of a free transfer for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Piers Morgan would like to see his friend join Premier League table toppers Arsenal on a free transfer, despite his disastrous World Cup and poor end to his time at Manchester United.

However, ex-Arsenal defender Nigel Winterburn disagrees with Piers.

"It's a no from me and there's only one simple reason; it would be a short-term gap to fill," Winterburn told Metro via Free Super Tips about the 819 career-goal forward."A lot of people might say that's great, let's do it.

"I wouldn't be able to argue with that, but I think the way Arsenal start games, they press high, they're full of energy, and Ronaldo is an unbelievable player, but I don't think he has the legs to be able to do that any more.

"I'm sure he doesn't. To bring him in, Arsenal would have to change their style of play, which I believe would be a disaster."
