PROF. APPIAH-ADU IS AWARDED THE ENERGY PRIZE

At the 6th Ghana Energy Awards held in Accra, Prof. Kwaku Appiah-Adu, a Senior Policy Advisor at the Vice-Secretariat, President's Office of the President, won the Outstanding Energy Management Award.


Professor Appiah-Adu is the national coordinator of the Energy Sector Recovery Programme and a professor of strategy (ESRP).


He also serves as the Technical Working Group Chair for AfCFTA's Infrastructure Section. He participates in the National Asset Management Policy Working Group, the Digital Economy Policy Working Group, and the Working Group on the International Financial Services Centre.

Prof. Appiah-Adu is a Fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences and the recipient of more than 100 publications. He is also the author of several books and has been elected to the ANBAR Hall of Excellence for Outstanding Contribution to the Literature and Body of Knowledge.


The Cash Waterfall Mechanism (CWM), Natural Gas Clearinghouse (NGC), and the Integrated Planning Process for power based on the Energy Supply and Infrastructure Plan as well as amendments to the Public Financial Management Act were successfully established under his direction as the ESRP Coordinator, improving liquidity throughout the energy sector's value chain and allowing the Ministry of Finance to budget for and pay sector shortfalls.
