Osman Bukari, a Ghanaian international, predicts that the Black Stars will soon bring home a trophy for their nation after falling short of expectations in the just concluded 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Following a 2-0 loss against Uruguay, the Black Stars fell out of the competition after the first round.
The Black Stars needed a draw or victory against Uruguay after defeating South Korea in their last group match to go to the round of 16.
However, the squad was unable to agree to points against its 'enemy' Uruguay to move on.
The resourceful winger urged Ghanaians to be patient with the Black Stars in an interview with Kumasi-based Sompa FM, claiming it wouldn't be long before the squad brought home a trophy for the country.
I'll apologize to Ghanaians for not living up to their expectations, but I'll also beg them to have patient because we players gave it our all to defeat Uruguay and advance, but it didn't work out.
"We only need to concentrate on the upcoming competition. The team will learn from its mistakes at the World Cup and move on because it is young.
The process won't take long because anything might occur. We just need to practice patience since planning is necessary for success in life. Since our team was the youngest at the World Cup, we can contribute to the nation.
At the just concluded 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, which was won on Sunday by Lionel Messi-inspired Argentina, the Black Stars were rated as the 24th best team.
The tournament saw Argentina defeat France in a tense final to win their third World Cup title, despite the African giants failing to advance past the group stage. Argentina was ranked 24 in the index rankings after the tournament.
Following Otto Addo's resignation after the Black Stars' early exit from the biggest soccer tournament in Asia, the team is currently without a coach.
