Manchester United advanced to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals with a 2-0 win over Burnley.

The team, however, will be missing star attacker Bruno Fernandes.

Fernandes was booked late in the game at Old Trafford and will be suspended for the quarter-finals.

In the previous round, against Aston Villa, the Portugal star was also booked. The Carabao Cup quarter-final draw will take place shortly.

Manchester United will learn their Carabao Cup quarter-final opponents on Thursday night, following Liverpool's match at Manchester City.

Potential adversaries include:

Newcastle United

Nottingham Forest

Leicester City

Southampton

Wolves

Charlton Athletic

Liverpool or Manchester City?

United will fancy their chances of winning the competition with so many top teams already out, but it will be more difficult in the next round without Bruno Fernandes.

He only has himself to blame after receiving a stupid late yellow card, and manager Erik ten Hag will be furious. The match will take place in early January, and while it is likely that Fernandes will get some rest, this will only be the case if United win the last eight tie.

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly closing in on a move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr after his contract with Manchester United was terminated after a tense few months at the English club. However, it does not appear that the move was the one that the Portuguese star was hoping for.

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wanted to continue playing at the highest level, and since his departure, he has tried unsuccessfully to find a top club to play in the Champions League.

Cristiano Ronaldo's offer has been confirmed by Eintrach Frankfurt's president.

Eintrach Frankfurt president Axel Hellmann confirmed this in an interview with DAZN.

"He was even offered to us," Hellmann said, according to DAZN.

"I believe he was courted by every Champions League club."Eintracht Frankfurt advanced from their Champions League group and will face Napoli in the next round, but without the Portuguese striker.

Cristiano Ronaldo appears to be leaving Europe.

Despite all of his offers from Champions League clubs, the Portuguese's future is likely to be outside of Europe, implying that his time as a top-level footballer has come to an end.

Cristiano Ronaldo has not yet given his definitive yes to Al Nassr, and the Saudi Arabian club is waiting for the Portuguese star to approve the proposal, which should not take long.
