Anthony Mensah Dzamefe, a Ghanaian watchmaker and the creator and CEO of the globally renowned watch company Caveman Watches, has received the Head of States Gold Award for 2022's Young Achievers and Innovators in Ghana.
The plan's organisers claim that Mr. Dzamefe is an inspiration to our generation and was honoured for his persistence, perseverance, and entrepreneurial spirit in founding Ghana's first watchmaking company.
He was one of the five outstanding young achievers in the Special Honors and Awards 2022 category, along with Ms. Audrey Esi Swanson, Roger 'Trey' Haun III, and two other individuals, who were recognised as Young Achievers & Innovators for pushing the envelope in terms of using innovation and creativity to address societal issues and challenges.
"Proud to receive the prestigious Presidential Head of State Awards, Young Achievers, and Innovators Honors yesterday at the State House," the CEO wrote on his Twitter page in response to receiving the latest honour.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo attended the award ceremony and stated that in order for young people to be in a position to move the nation in the right direction, they need to be given the proper tools, training, support, and opportunities.
At the Head of State Gold Award event held on Monday at Jubilee House, where a few young Ghanaians received the honour, President Akufo-Addo made the statement.
He emphasised the necessity for the nation to establish channels that would let young people experiment, invent, and apply original thinking to address societal issues.
The worldwide youth mobilisation and digital award projects of the Awards Scheme, which allow social entrepreneurship to address social issues in the nation, piqued his interest.
The President exhorted the young people to dream big and use their incredible skills for the advancement of their society and the world at large.
The incredible invention, accomplishments, and influence of young people's lives who have recently increased the profile of the nation were lauded by President Akufo-Addo.
By providing young people with a platform to explore and develop their identities through volunteerism, skill development, adventurous travel, and physical and recreational activities, the award programme aims to empower and alter their lives so they may succeed in life.
