The eSIM, also known as an embedded or electronic SIM, has been introduced by MTN Ghana.

At the point of production, mobile and smart devices include an eSIM, a virtual SIM. Customers benefit from the simplicity of switching between several mobile numbers without any delay on a single SIM device. Customers can connect smart gadgets including smartphones, tablets, and smart watches using MTN eSIM.

Both Pay-As-You-Go (Prepaid) and Post-Paid individual and corporate subscribers have access to the eSIM. It is accessible digitally through the MyMTN App. Customers whose phone numbers are already registered with MTN will have them upgraded to eSIM. Using the Ghana Card, new subscribers would go through the standard registration process and have their biometric information taken. Upon successful activation, every new eSIM comes with a free 10-GB non-expiring data bundle.

Noel Kojo-Ganson, the Chief Commercial Officer of MTN Ghana, commented on the launch of the eSIM service and said that it confirms MTN's commitment to leading digital solutions for Africa's advancement and offering our cherished clients with the advantages of a contemporary connected life.

"As a brand, we continue to demonstrate that improving the customer experience, utilizing technology, and innovation remain our priorities," he said. With the launch of eSIM, we are even more committed to providing both current and new clients with value-added solutions.

In keeping with MTN's mission "to lead the delivery of a bold, new digital world to its clients," the introduction of eSIM will help the company achieve its Ambition 2025 goals. Customers' access to various devices that support eSIM will be made possible by the eSIM, which will also improve customer experience. Without using the current SIM card logistics, it provides subscriptions for millions of new devices. Additionally, it will improve the user experience by providing their new gadget with quick connectivity.
