Thomas Tuchel is learning a new language, fans are convinced they know where he's heading next
Following reports that he is learning a new language, Thomas Tuchel may be on his way back to management.
The former Chelsea manager was fired after a 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League earlier this season, and he has remained out of the spotlight ever since.
One issue that has arisen since his dismissal from the London Club is the issue of his work visa in this country, which suggests he may be forced to leave the country if he is unable to find another job in the country.According to Sportbild, the 49-year-old has "left England as a residence," leaving his future uncertain.
However, his future may become clearer in the new year, as reports claim he has been studying Spanish, implying that a move to La Liga is possible.
The former PSG manager has never managed in Spain, but that may be about to change.
Speculation surrounds his potential move to Spain, and given his status as an elite manager, he would almost certainly only accept a role at one of the country's top clubs, narrowing his options.Looking at the major clubs in Spain, despite their early Champions League exit, Barcelona appear settled with Xavi at the helm, as does Real Madrid with Carlo Ancelotti, but the Italian manager has a recent history of not staying in a role for long.
Particularly given recent reports that he could take over as Brazil manager after Tite stepped down following their World Cup quarter-final defeat.Outside of those two clubs, Diego Simeone's contract at Atletico Madrid may expire soon due to the club's poor European performance in recent years, as well as the fact that he has been in charge since 2011.
Tuchel, 49, had been a reported target for the job of England manager, but Gareth Southgate recently confirmed his decision to stay in the role at least until Euro 2024 in 18 months.
During his tenure as manager, the German led Chelsea to the Champions League in 2021, as well as the Super Cup and Club World Cup.
He also played for PSG in the Champions League final the year before and had a successful spell at Borussia Dortmund.Tuchel is perhaps the best manager who is currently unemployed, and whoever he joins next has a good chance of success if his track record is any indication.
