Asante Kotoko, the defending champions, took against Berekum Chelsea at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Blues took the lead after Emmanuel Sarpong's equalizer in the 27th minute for the visiting squad.
Despite the setback, Asante Kotoko persevered and managed to salvage the situation.
The Porcupine Warriors defeated Berekum Chelsea 2-1 at the conclusion of the 90 minutes thanks to goals from Eric Zeze in the 45th minute and Steven Mukwala in the 65th minute.
