Since the end of the 2022 World Cup, many players have retired from international duty. While some have done so due to disappointments, others believe that the time has come to call it quits.

Karim Benzema stepped down from international duty following disagreements with France coach Didier Deschamps. Benzema was forced to withdraw from his country's World Cup squad due to an injury. There has been much speculation about the reason for his retirement, and while we do not know what caused it, we do know that it did not end well.

Blaise Matuidi also announced his international retirement earlier today. He was a member of France's World Cup-winning squad in 2018, but he did not travel to Qatar for this year's competition.

Eden Hazard has also withdrawn from the Belgium national team following their disappointing performance in Qatar. The red devils crashed out in the group stage, and he announced his retirement almost immediately.

Sergio Busquets retired from international duty with Spain following the country's elimination from the World Cup in the round of 16. They lost to Morocco, and Busquets decided to leave the team.

Wahbi Khazri, Tunisia's second-highest goal scorer of all time, retired from international duty following his country's exit from the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Andre Onana has also announced his retirement from international football following his disagreement with Cameroon's manager. Onana was kicked out of Cameroon's World Cup squad halfway through the tournament and has now decided to retire.
