Not a good indication. - Another setback for Arsenal as a "special" player is expected to miss the holiday season due to injury.

Reiss Nelson will likely be out for the duration of the holiday season, according to Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal.

Nelson, 23, was hurt in the hamstring during Arsenal's 2-0 victory against Juventus over the holiday break.

Prior to the start of the Premier League season this weekend, it was yet another injury setback for Arsenal.

The Gunners were already without their first-choice striker Gabriel Jesus, who underwent surgery to repair a knee injury he incurred while representing Brazil at the World Cup in Qatar and is now set to be out for several months.Nelson will miss the busy holiday season, according to Arsenal manager Arteta, who made the announcement ahead of his team's Boxing Day match with West Ham.

Arteta, who recently called Nelson a "great" player, clarified, "I'm talking about weeks."

He won't be out for a few days, but for a few weeks. We'll have to wait and watch how he responds over the coming days, but he sensed something right quickly, which is bad for sprinters.

Nelson suffers a major setback

Nelson will be eager to demonstrate his value over the final months of his contract because he is out of contract with Arsenal at the end of the current campaign.

His injury might make Arsenal's pursuit of Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans and Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk more intense.

Arteta said earlier this week that the club's approach to the January transfer window wouldn't change significantly as a result of Nelson's injury. The plans haven't altered since we know what to do, he said.

Arsenal travels to Brighton on December 31 to play the opponent they faced on Boxing Day, West Ham.

The third game in just nine days will be played on January 3 at the Emirates between the Premier League leaders and third-place Newcastle.
