Between David Beckham of Manchester United and Gareth Bale of Los Angeles FC, Rio Ferdinand masterfully dissected who was the better player overall.

Bale established himself during a fruitful first stint at Tottenham before being acquired by Real Madrid in 2013 for an astounding £85.3 million transfer fee.

Bale continued to thrive in Madrid after his then-world-record transfer, despite facing harsh criticism from fans, despite the city.

During his successful tenure with Los Blancos, the 33-year-old Welsh winger won three La Liga championships, five Champions Leagues, and a Copa del Rey.Bale left Real Madrid in the summer to join MLS team LAFC, but not before he was loaned out to Spurs for a second time for the 2020–21 season.

Beckham, who is frequently regarded as one of all-greatest time's wingers, became a household name at Old Trafford during his brilliant playing career.

The 47-year-old former England captain had a successful tenure at United, winning six Premier League championships, a Champions League, and two FA Cups.

Beckham, like Bale, found success playing football outside of England and won league championships with both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.Beckham and Ferdinand were teammates while they were representing their clubs and countries, and Ferdinand cited Beckham's contribution to the Red Devils' treble-winning campaign.

But according to the United legend, Bale was the "greatest British player" to play overseas and created the "huge moments" that allowed him to earn significant awards throughout his career.

Gareth Bale, hands down, in terms of career, trophies, according to Ferdinand, speaking to BBC Sport during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (watch it above). There is no disputing it.

"Which player is superior? In terms of... once more, Gareth Bale produced big moments to win big trophies in big moments. But then you consider Becks, who was arguably one of the best players in the world at the time and what he accomplished during [Manchester United's] treble season.

It's a difficult one. The best British player to play overseas is Gareth Bale. Easily. Who is superior to him? And what actions did he take while he was there?

Becks wasn't the culprit.
