In the Premier League era, Liverpool has pulled off some amazing January transfer window moves. Here are the top five.

In the past, the Reds have frequently taken advantage of the window as an opportunity to restock their roster in preparation for the second half of the season.

Liverpool approaches the window differently than some other teams, who typically concentrate more on their summer business and only make purchases in January if absolutely required.

Due to the heavy trade rumors around midfielders Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez, they might have a busy year.

Although it's unclear how much Jurgen Klopp's team is ready to spend, don't be shocked if new players are brought in this season, similar to how Luis Diaz was acquired from Porto in January.Let's examine five of the Reds' top January acquisitions from the start of the Premier League era, in specific order.

Van Dijk, Virgil (Southampton to Liverpool, 2018)

When Virgil van Dijk posed with a Christmas tree and a Liverpool shirt in December 2017, Reds supporters could only imagine the influence he would have on the team.

The fact that Liverpool paid a then-record-breaking £75 million for the defender put a lot of pressure on Van Dijk to deliver.

Van Dijk, though, never looked back after scoring on his debut—in an FA Cup match against Everton, no less.It is safe to say that the £75 million was money well spent after seven trophies, including a Champions League trophy and the first top division victory since 1990.

Suarez, Luis (Ajax to Liverpool, 2011)

In order to replace Fernando Torres, who was headed to Chelsea, Liverpool pulled off one of the messiest deadline day swoops in history in 2011. They acquired Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll.

Carroll's transfer from Newcastle to Liverpool cost £50 million, approximately £28 million more than Suarez's did. However, the Uruguayan ended up making a much bigger difference at Anfield.Despite missing the first five games of the season while serving a suspension for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic, he scored 31 goals in one of the finest Premier League seasons ever in 2013–14.

By just two points, Liverpool lost the championship to Manchester City, and Suarez departed for Barcelona that summer.

P. H. Coutinho (Inter Milan to Liverpool, 2013)

Philippe Coutinho, a 20-year-old offensive midfielder, was signed by Liverpool in January 2013 for just £8.5 million from Inter Milan.
