Liverpool is a top European club that is always looking for new players. This is due to their desire to bring in players who will help them compete favorably in top European competitions such as the UEFA Champions League.
Virgil Van Dijk is their most expensive signing. In the 2017/2018 season, they paid Southampton €84.7 million for the Dutch center back. Aside from his strong defensive abilities, he has a strong desire to score goals.
Darwin Nunez, who joined them in the summer of 2022, is their second most expensive signing. Benfica sold the Uruguayan striker to the Reds for €80 million.
Liverpool have agreed to terms with PSV for the signing of Dutch striker Cody Gakpo. He is set to join Liverpool for €42 million in the winter of 2023. This makes him the club's ninth most expensive signing. After scoring three goals for the Netherlands in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, he became a target for most top European clubs.

Evra tells Man Utd to make three signings after doubts about player who has ‘disappeared’
Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has told manager Erik ten Hag that the club needs to sign three players in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils are hoping to sign some players over the winter, with Ten Hag stating that the club needs to sign a striker.
Ten Hag told Sky Sports that Manchester United need to sign a striker for two reasons. First, goals can come from within our own club: see Garnacho, Elanga, and Pellistri, who impressed in the World Cup and in training against Everton last week. That comes first."We are aware we lost a striker, so I think we have to get a striker in but it has to be the right one. The right one will bring quality to the team rather than just being an addition to the squad, which will only cause problems.
"You know Manchester United has high standards."
However, according to a report today, the Man United board will only allow Ten Hag to make loan signings in January, as the Glazers are looking to sell the club.
Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra believes the club requires three players to have a successful season under the Dutchman."You always expect to strengthen, but I don't want to go into the transfer window panicking and buying players just because the fans and media want it," Evra told Betfair.
"We need to add something to the squad so we can perform much better.
"We're probably going to need a striker, I definitely think we need a defender.
"Diogo Dalot is doing a job, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has just disappeared, so I don't know if we need another right-back. Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are our competitors.
"I believe we require a center-back, a striker, and a midfielder. We still require experience from Casemiro players.
"I'm sure Ten Hag is working with the club, and they'll do their best to get something done."Wan-Bissaka, who appeared in United's 2-0 Carabao Cup win over Burnley last week, has only played four minutes in the Premier League this season, with Donny van de Beek potentially looking for more game time as well.
"This transfer window for United also depends on which players are going to leave," Evra added.
"I believe there are players who are unhappy about not playing and will attempt to leave."
