The University of Ghana is now rated 1,124th in the world and is the top university in Ghana for the year 2022.
The Webometrics.com rating was created to encourage web publishing, with a focus on supporting open access projects and providing electronic access to academic and scientific papers.
According to local rankings, Cape Coast University and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology came in second and third, respectively, and were rated 1,532nd and 2,205th globally.
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, the University for Development Studies, and the University of Ghana took the top three spots in the Impact ranking once more.
In terms of openness, UG once more came out on top, followed by KNUST and the University of Cape Coast.
Out of the 89 tertiary institutions in the nation, the University of Ghana took first place in the Excellence Ranking, followed by KNUST and UCC once more.
"We seek to urge both institutions and researchers to create a web presence that appropriately reflect their activity," states the Webometrics.com website. University authorities should reevaluate their online strategy and encourage significant improvements in the number and quality of their electronic publications if an institution's web performance is below the expected position in accordance with their academic excellence.
