The Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, is deserving of praise and acclaim as 2022 draws to a close despite all the challenges the nation has faced. He continues to be this administration's shining example and is the most deserving person for this honour.

In addition to exceeding many Ghanaians' expectations, particularly in terms of policy, the minister has distinguished himself as a Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Bosomtwe community.

His appointment as the substantive minister in 2021 brought about a number of creative and disruptive reforms in the educational field, opening doors for thousands of Ghanaian kids to easily advance academically.

Thanks to Dr. Adutwum's guidance, Technical and Vocational Education (TVET), which was previously only seen as a choice for those with poor academic standing, is now seen favourably.

Even more fascinating is the fact that kids who enrol in senior high schools (SHS) that provide both technical and visual arts courses have a window of opportunity to pursue engineering programmes at the university level.

One of the greatest programmes ever developed in the field has been hailed as this intervention, which is a component of efforts to promote STEM education.

Dr. Adutwum was credited with creating the free senior high school programme, which is now the New Patriot Party's signature policy, before being named the substantive minister (NPP).

In addition to being one of the best ministers in this administration, Dr. Adutwum has won praise from his supporters for helping the area's low-income residents have access to university education.

When it was revealed that the Ghana Education Service (GES) will be paying staff workers who owed transfer and automobile maintenance allowances, Dr. Adutwum recently earned the hearts of many Ghanaian teachers.

Many families whose children would have stayed at home but for Dr. Adutwum's assistance have been influenced by his desire to generate hundreds of engineers for Bosomtwe over the next few years.

Dr. Adutwum has personally funded the tuition, housing costs, and pocket money of hundreds of Bosomtwe students enrolled in engineering and science-related courses at several public institutions during the past two years.

At order to accommodate students from Bosomtwe, the minister is also working to have hostels built in several of the institutions. Beyond his accomplishments as a minister and in the legislature, he has consistently and skillfully represented Ghana at international conventions.

He garnered widespread acclaim earlier this year when he frankly discussed how the educational system in Africa teaches kids to be afraid rather than strong and confident.

Dr. Adutwum is a minister of whom Ghana may be proud, notwithstanding the country's ongoing economic difficulties.
