In a game that saw both clubs finish with 10 men, Curtis Main scored an equalizer in the second half to rescue a point for St Mirren, who recorded a 1-1 Scottish Premiership draw against Livingston.

In the 24th minute, Scott Pittman of the home team was dismissed for a challenge on Keanu Baccus. Ten minutes after the half, Cristian Montano put Livingston ahead with a goal in the 56th minute, just seconds after Saints captain Mark O'Hara was sent off after receiving a second caution.

But once Main converted from close range seven minutes later, he made sure that a piece of the spoils made it back along the M8.

Livingston's Joel Nouble missed practice once more due to a knee injury, and Lions' defender Jack Fitzwater was sidelined due to an injury. The visitors had no such injury concerns, as manager Stephen Robinson started the same lineup that beat Aberdeen on Christmas Eve.

Both teams put in a lot of effort, but the goal-scoring opportunities were few and far between in the first half.

The dismissal of Livingston midfielder Pittman was the only significant discussion point. Steven McLean first issued a caution to Pittman for challenging Baccus, but after reviewing the incident's video, the referee brandished a red card.

But unlike at Easter Road, where Livingston succumbed to Hibernian by a score of 4-1 in just 35 minutes after Jason Holt was sent off, the hosts continued to appear at ease.

Montano even succeeded in firing a low shot that narrowly missed the mark. A different tale emerged in the second half as opportunities and goals were produced on both sides.

In the 55th minute, Saints midfielder O'Hara received a second caution for a foul on Bruce Anderson, leveling the score. The Lions gained the lead after 60 seconds. Although Montano's low shot bounced off the post, the left-back was there to score close-range.

Sean Kelly's pass to Anderson nearly resulted in a second goal, but Trevor Carson saved Anderson's weak attempt.

Ivan Konovalov, the goalie for Livingston, then made an incredible save to deflect a shot from replacement Eamonn Brophy.

The Russian was unable to achieve much, though, as Main leveled the playing field for the guests. The striker connected with Brophy's cross and sent the ball from close range into the goal.

Brophy had a final opportunity to at least challenge Konovalov, but he missed wide from a difficult angle and the points were split.
