Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram has chosen Man Utd as his favourite Premier League transfer option ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports.
The Red Devils are in need of goal-scoring reinforcements after Cristiano Ronaldo left the club by mutual consent prior to the World Cup.
Marcus Rashford has been the Red Devilâs most reliable attacking option so far this season, contributing five goals and three assists from 15 appearances in the league before todayâs match against Wolves.
Injury-prone Anthony Martial is their other main option up front and Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag sees Thuram as a realistic January transfer target.
There have already been reports that Thuram is ready to leave Gladbach in order to move to a bigger club with more hope of challenging for major honours.
And now Bild (via Sport Witness) claims that Thuram â who played in Franceâs World Cup final defeat to Argentina on penalties â wants to move to âone of the four dream clubsâ next month.
Thuram is said to have âtwo clear wishesâ: to move to Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Man Utd or Paris Saint-Germain and to do it in the January transfer window.
The report adds that Aston Villa and Newcastle âcan save their bidsâ as Thuram has no interest in joining either of the Premier League sides.
âMarcus Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani made a brilliant contribution to the game [against Argentina] in very difficult circumstances,â Saha told Paddy Power.
âThey maintained their composure in crucial moments, and they are great players.
âAt this moment in time, young players moving to Manchester United need to be cautious because we have seen some really good players struggle at United. Iâm not saying they shouldnât join because of that, but itâs a difficult time.
âItâs not enough to just be a good player or in good form. Itâs all about how they can adapt, and the situation is not totally clear at the moment, so I donât want to throw any names around.
âThey [Thuram and Kolo Muani] are very good prospects and I hope they can see that Manchester United are growing, and Erik ten Hag is the right manager.â
