Manchester United could be looking for a new striker after Cristiano Ronaldo ended his relationship with the club after a turbulent year and secured a groundbreaking move to Saudi Arabia.

Manchester United are currently lacking in the center-forward position, with Anthony Martial the only experienced out-and-out striker available. Given the firepower of their league rivals, the Red Devils must bolster their attacking ranks if they are to compete for at least a Champions League spot. They can do so during the winter transfer window.

While Manchester United may have to wait until next summer to bring in a big-money striker, there was no shortage of standouts at the recently concluded World Cup in Qatar who could be available at bargain prices.

Vincent Aboubakar

While Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to join Al Nassr, Manchester United should look to sign Al Nassr's 30-year-old Cameroonian striker Vincent Aboubakar. Aboubakar had two standout performances at the World Cup, scoring a delicious chipped goal against Switzerland and scoring a last-second winner against Brazil in Cameroon's final group game.

Aboubakar appears to be entering his prime years, based on his performances at the 2021 AFCON, where he finished top goalscorer.

Mehdi Taremi

Mehdi Taremi, 30, scored two goals in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup in Qatar, as his Iranian team was eliminated in the group stages, like Aboubakar. In recent years, the Porto star has proven to be a potent presence in front of goal, even on the biggest stage.

His sublime bicycle kick against Chelsea in the 2020-2021 Champions League earned him the UEFA.com Goal of the Season award as well as a Puskas Award nomination.

According to Transfermrkt, he is worth 20 million and could be a low-cost signing for Manchester United.

Lukaku SHOCKER: I went to Chelsea owner Boehly and told him exactly what I thought of Tuchel

Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku admitted to 'discussing' former manager Thomas Tuchel with Chelsea owner Todd Boehly this summer.

The Blues' record 97.5 million signing has also stated that he has no desire to return to Stamford Bridge and wishes to remain at Inter Milan.

"Boehly decided to let me leave after I told him the whole truth about my relationship with Tuchel," Lukaku, 29, told Sky Italia.

"We had a great conversation, and I told him my version of what happened."Then I had the opportunity to return to Inter, and Boehly made it happen."

Since returning to the San Siro on loan in the summer, Lukaku has played in just four Inter games, scoring once and assisting once.

However, the 104-cap Belgian international is determined to stay in Italy before returning to his childhood club Anderlecht.

"Everyone knows what I want," he added.

"I'm hoping to stay at Inter. I adore this club, and we will speak with Chelsea to find a solution."Inter fans are really special, for me they are the best in the world.

"Because even if we are in difficulty they are always there to help the team.

"It surprised me because I assumed they were upset with me.

"But in the end, they know I've always had Inter in my heart. Even if I left, they know I've always had a soft spot for Inter.

"I've had conversations with my team-mates, with people from the club and they know I've told the truth about why I left.

"Now I'm back and I hope to stay in the future. I mean, Inter is worth everything to me."The plan is to finish my career with Anderlecht. I'm nearly 30 years old, and my son started school here and now plays for the Inter academy. "I want to stay here and do the right thing."
