Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has been chastised for signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona last summer.
According to Jamie Redknapp, Aubameyang was never the answer to Chelsea's scoring problems, and the 33-year-old striker is past his prime.
Aubameyang has only scored one Premier League goal since joining Chelsea from Barcelona, and he missed a great chance to score late in Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest.
"He wasn't the answer at Arsenal, and he's not going to be the answer at Chelsea," Redknapp said."He's getting older. He's not the player he once was. They're attempting to sign [Christopher] Nkunku; I'm not sure if they'll be able to do so."
Meanwhile, Chelsea record signing Romelu Lukaku has revealed his desire to leave the club permanently for Inter Milan.
The Belgian forward returned to Inter on a €8 million loan last summer, one year after re-signing for Chelsea for a club record £98 million fee.
"I spoke to Chelsea about my relationship with the coach and I decided to come back to Inter," Lukaku told Sky Sports Italia. Things moved quickly, which pleased me."I hope to stay at Inter, Inter for me is everything. But we need to work out a solution with Chelsea."

Newcastle is two points ahead of Manchester United in third place, but has played one game more. The BBC's Team of the Week
After the win over Nottingham Forest, Marcus Rashford was the only player named to the BBC Team of the Week.
Despite scoring the game-winning goal, Rashford was left out this time, as two teammates did.
These were goalkeeper David de Gea and defender Luke Shaw, who played in the center of defense. Both players played crucial roles in the Red Devils' clean sheet at Molineux.
"De Gea didn't go to the World Cup with Spain and it looks like he's benefited from the rest," pundit Garth Crooks said of De Gea after praising his crucial save from Raul Jimenez."I knew Luke Shaw was quick, but I hadn't seen the defender put himself on the line in quite the same way as he was having to do in his new central role," he said.
United will play Bournemouth in the Premier League on Tuesday night before facing Everton in the FA Cup on Friday night.
The following Tuesday is the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Charlton, with all three games taking place at Old Trafford.
Following that, United will host Manchester City in the Premier League before traveling to Arsenal a week later.
