On Monday night, Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp was not pleased.
Jurgen Klopp was enraged by the refereeing in Liverpool's 3-1 Premier League defeat to Brentford.
Both sides had goals ruled out, and Brentford's clinching goal came in controversial circumstances, as Liverpool thought Bryan Mbuemo had pushed Ibrahima Konate over in the build-up.
When asked if he had discussed the issue with match officials, Klopp told beIN Sports that he had.
"Yeah, but that's exactly the same as talking to my microwave; you get no response, really, it's always the same," he explained.
"Before the season, they told us that the players needed to be cautious in these situations because the refs would be watching.
"You see, in these games, pretty much anything is allowed; it's always on the edge, and they use it."
Jurgen Klopp vs. Paul Tierney
Klopp went on to criticize referee Paul Tierney specifically.
"I really have no idea what his problem is with me; you need an objective ref," he added.
"I don't expect anything to go our way; I just think a foul is a foul, holding is holding, and pushing is pushing."
Liverpool are now four points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, who also have a game in hand.
