After the Ghanaian team's participation in the 2022 Championship of African Nations (CHAN), Daniel Afriyie Barnieh will sign with FC Zurich of the Swiss Super League.
Following a positive physical on Tuesday, the 21-year-old from Hearts of Oak was signed by the 13-time league winners on Tuesday.
The former captain of the Black Satellites committed to FC Zurich for three years.
However, the forward won't begin playing right now. He will reunite with the Black Galaxies squad in the event in Algeria today.
He was given a pass to go to Switzerland and finish his portion of the transfer.
Parts of a statement on the club's website stated, "Daniel Afriyie will join FC Zurich after his assignment at the current Championship of African Nations (CHAN), in which only players who play in their home nations' national leagues are eligible."
He will compete for Ghana against Madagascar, Sudan, and Morocco in Group C as one of the team's assistant captains.
Ten days before the start of CHAN 2023, the Black Galaxies landed in Algeria on Tuesday afternoon.
