Man United held negotiations with No.7 Portugal international

Man United and Jorge Mendes have discussed Joao Felix numerous times. Atletico Madrid values the Portugal international at nearly £86 million, and he could embark on a new adventure during the winter transfer window.

"In this case, it's about the price," Fabrizio Romano explained, "because Man United have had many conversations with his agent, but at the moment there is no negotiation, no concrete negotiation because of the price." Before signing with Atletico Madrid, Felix was one of the most sought-after young teenage prodigies in the world.Los Colchoneros paid a nine-figure sum for Joao a few years ago. However, between July 2019 and now, the Portuguese has not made as much progress as he would have liked. The 23-year-old forward has had a difficult season thus far, as he is no longer the undisputed first-choice attacker.

This season, the Portuguese winger has started only nine of Atletico Madrid's 21 games. In January, Felix will most likely leave Atletico to embark on a new adventure. Man United has taken notice of such a situation. However, his £86 million price tag may pose a problem for the Premier League giants.Man United will only look to the loan market for potential solutions. As a result, they are unlikely to pay £86 million to sign Joao Felix in the winter. And, with Chelsea also interested in signing the former Benfica winger on loan, Man United could sign him on a short-term deal.
