OKADA RIDER SENTENCE TO 15 YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR ROBBERY

Emmanuel Waki, otherwise known as Pocket, who allegedly burglarized a walker's cell phone close to the Ghana Police Administration central command, has been sentenced to 15 years' detention by an Accra Circuit Court.

Waki is said to have committed the demonstration when the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and his guardians, and the Police Supervisory crew had gotten back from observational group obligations on December 19, 2022, and were entering the Police Central Command.

The guardians of the IGP got Salifu Alhaji, an associate who was likewise around the scene, and he drove the police to capture Waki at his home in Fadama, in Accra.

The court, managed by Mr. Samuel Splendid Acquah, sentenced Waki to 10 years' detention on the charge of scheme to perpetrate wrongdoing and 15 years' detention on the charge of burglary.
The sentences are to simultaneously run.

The assistant, Salifu Alhaji, otherwise known as Malika, a 24-year-old Okada Rider who was likewise having to deal with similar penalties, denied the offense.

The court has remanded Alhaji into the custody of the police, to return on January 17.
The indictment, driven by Investigator Isaac Babayi, went against the award of bail for Alhaji.

The arraignment portrayed that on Monday, December 19, 2022, at around 10 a.m., the IGP and his protectors got back from their routine observational obligations.

While remaining before the police base camp, the IGP and his group detected a motorbike rider riding in a dubious manner from the Ghana Fire Administration central command course, heading towards Arko Adjei Trade.

The indictment said on December 20, 2022, Alhaji drove the police to the home of Waki at Old Fadama, where he was captured.

During examinations, Waki conceded that he was the person who denied walking his cell phone on the asphalt at around 2020 hours on December 18, 2022.

The indictment said Waki additionally admitted offering the cell phone to Mohammed for GHC 300.00.
