Many high-profile players, including Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante, Milan Skriniar, and Memphis Depay, will be available in the summer transfer market of 2023 unless they renew their contracts with their clubs.


Messi, who recently won Argentina's 2022 FIFA World Cup, is expected to extend his stay at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), but his current contract will expire on June 30, according to the German football data website Transfermarkt.


Messi, who is in the final year of his contract, is still a summer free agent.

Messi signed a two-year contract extension with PSG in 2021, with a third year option.


The parties are expected to meet soon to decide whether or not to extend for another season.


Messi has been a PSG forward since 2021, scoring 12 goals and assisting 14 times in 19 games this season.


Argentina won their first World Cup title since 1986 thanks to the 35-year-seven old's goals in this winter's World Cup.


Before the World Cup, Messi and his teammates won the Copa America in 2021.Messi, a former Barcelona forward, has scored 98 goals in 172 Argentina international appearances since 2005. He is also the captain of Argentina's national team.


Messi, a seven-time Ballon d'Or winner, helped PSG win the French Ligue 1 championship last season.



With Barcelona, where he spent the majority of his career, he won 10 Spanish La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions Leagues.


Benzema, the 2022 Ballon d'Or winner, will be free in June.


Karim Benzema is a good Real Madrid forward who has won several major titles in Spain as well as five Champions League trophies.


The Real Madrid star, who is of Algerian descent, is also one of Europe's top scorers.Real Madrid signed him from Olympique Lyon, Benzema's childhood club, in 2009.

Benzema has eight goals in 13 games for Real Madrid this season.


Kante is free to leave Chelsea this summer.


Chelsea's N'Golo Kante, known for his hard work and stability in the center of the park, will be another favorite player for clubs looking for a free midfielder.Kante, a key member of France's World Cup-winning squad in 2018, is free to negotiate with other clubs before the summer of 2023.


The Frenchman won the English Premier League title twice, once with Leicester City in 2016 and once with his current club Chelsea in 2017.


Kante joined Chelsea in 2016 after winning the Premier League with Leicester City, which was one of football's fairy tales.


With Chelsea, he also won the Champions League and the Europa League.


Due to a hamstring injury, the 31-year-old did not play for France in the 2022 World Cup.


He is set to return to the field in February.Since 2016, Kante has been a France midfielder, appearing in 53 matches for Les Bleus.


Clubs are interested in Inter defender Skriniar.


Milan Skriniar, an Inter Milan central defender since 2017, is a top target for clubs looking to strengthen their defense for the coming season.

During his five-and-a-half-year stay at Inter, he scored 11 goals.


Skriniar's market value is €60 million ($63.6 million), according to Transfermarkt.


Skriniar assisted Inter in winning the Italian Serie A title in 2021.The Nerazzurri won the Italian league for the first time in 11 years, ending Juventus' nine-year reign.


Skriniar appeared in 21 games for Inter this season.


Depay is free to relocate once more.


Memphis Depay, 28, a Dutch forward known for his pace, dribble, and finishing abilities, is one of the big names whose contract will expire this year.


After a successful stint at Olympique Lyon, Barcelona signed Depay on a free transfer in 2021.


Depay previously topped his career with 76 goals and 55 assists in 178 appearances for Olympique Lyon from 2017 to 2021.


Before joining Barcelona, the Dutchman played for PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United, and Olympique Lyon.Depay, on the other hand, scored 14 goals in 41 games for Barcelona, falling short of the mark in the Spanish powerhouse.


Depay and Manchester United won the UEFA Europa League in 2017. Prior to that, in 2015, he won the Dutch league with PSV Eindhoven.


This season, he has made only a few appearances for Barcelona. He was sidelined due to thigh issues prior to the 2022 World Cup.


His time at Barcelona may be coming to an end this June, as Robert Lewandowski, who was signed in the summer of 2022, and Ansu Fati, Raphinha, and Ousmane Dembele are Barcelona head coach Xavi's first choices in the team's offense this season.


Depay was one of the players with a promising future in Dutch football in the early 2010s.Depay has represented the Netherlands since 2013.


In 86 international appearances, he scored 43 goals.


In addition to these players, Leicester City's Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans and Turkish defender Caglar Soyuncu, Chelsea's Italian midfielder Jorginho, Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram, Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, Juventus' French midfielder Adrien Rabiot, Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino, along with Real Madrid midfielders Luka Modric, Marco Asensio, and Toni Kroos are the other notable free agents of summer 2023 as it stands.
