The government's industrialization programme under the One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative, according to Dr. Daniel McKorley, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the McDan Gruop of Companies, is one of the finest things that has ever happened to the nation.

In spite of the present global economic crisis, he claims that the effort will change the country's economic prospects.

One of the centrepiece initiatives of the Akufo-Addo administration is the 1D1F. The proposition received a lot of support during the 2016 election.

It was started in 2017 by the President after taking office.

The initiative has subsequently produced over 100 operational industries and generated thousands of direct and indirect employment throughout the recipient areas, according to Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyeramaten.

Dr. McKorley praised the administration for implementing this strategy in light of this.

He remarked on Wednesday's Super Morning Show on Joy FM that the project should not be politicised.

"Since this would lead to the creation of jobs for the average person on the street, we don't need to engage in political games with it. One of the finest things that has ever happened to this nation is the District One Factory.

"I genuinely supported it and I still do. We shouldn't make light of the 1D1F because there is too much potential for it, he stated on Wednesday.

The Ghanaian government and the private sector joined together to create the One District One Factory, which has resulted in the opening of several new industries as well as the revival of numerous former enterprises.

Through government and private sector cooperation, the programme has led to the revival of several rice processing, juice processing, and other enterprises.

"What we want in this country is job creation, and one of the IMF's conditions is that the government cannot hire." Now is the perfect time for the private sector to start hiring people, McDan stressed.

Regarding the initiative's viability, the successful businessman encouraged the government to form a monitoring committee to direct the 1D1F initiative's actions.

"I believed that 1D1F would be monitored and evaluated by a government monitoring and assessment committee. They were to consider potential locations for industries, he said.
