Chelsea has taken a huge blow after 10 first-team players were injured despite being in 10th place in the Premier League table, 10 points behind 4th-placed Manchester United and 10 points ahead of 18th-placed Everton. Chelsea has struggled with fitness issues since last season, with 97 injuries, 16 more than any other team in Europe's top five leagues. Graham Potter called back Chelsea players to Cobham for training to work out some tactical issues, and a physiotherapy firm has stepped in to replace long-serving Chelsea medical staff.

Chelsea has been injured. Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is among the first ten players, along with three defenders: Ben Chilwell, Wesley Fofana, and Reece James. Chelsea's injured midfielders include Loftus Cheek, Ngolo Kante, and Mason Mount, while Christian Pulisic, Armando Broja, and Raheem Sterling are among the forwards. Chelsea will face Manchester City in the FA Cup on Sunday, with Potter hoping to get back on track.

‘My future is not under my control’ – Frank Lampard in danger of Everton sacking after yet another defeat

Frank Lampard has admitted that his future at Everton is 'not under his control,' with the Chelsea legend facing a sacking following another defeat on Friday.

The Toffees were knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United 3-1 at Old Trafford, their sixth defeat in their last seven games.

Everton are also out of the Carabao Cup and sit 18th in the Premier League, just above the relegation zone.

Toffees boss Lampard was quizzed about his future at the club following the defeat to United and told ITV: 'That's not under my control.'It is not for me to concentrate on that. It's up to me to concentrate on what I saw tonight, which was a performance that every manager desires in terms of team attitude and focus. The emphasis is now on Southampton.

'This league can change very quickly, and when you're in a bad streak, you have to work really hard to get out of it, but it can change.

'I don't want to talk about my future; I only want to talk about the players and how well they performed. My priority is this team and getting a win against Southampton.'Prior to the game, Lampard's former Chelsea teammate Shaun Wright-Phillips defended the Everton manager.

'Frank Lampard has always been a player and a person who will not run away from a bad situation,' says one. Wright-Phillips stated to the BBC.

'He is the type of person who will try to solve it or make the situation much better.

'He inherited a slew of issues. They have injuries and individual mistakes that you can't really coach out of players.'I've seen them play a few times, particularly against Manchester City, and they don't look like they belong in this position. The issue they face is maintaining that level of performance throughout the rest of the games.

'If they continue with that mentality, they will cause a lot of problems for a lot of teams. They simply have to be difficult to beat because they have the personnel to launch counter-attacks. From there, you can gain some confidence and move forward.'
