The Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) has heaped praise on Alan Kyerematen, the outgoing trade and industry minister.
The Traders Union praised the departed Trade and Industry Minister for his iconic contributions, hailing him as a national hero, a statesman, and a valuable gift to the world.
Hon. Alan Kyerematen, who had worked at the Trade and Industry Ministry for more than ten years under two governments, unexpectedly submitted an official letter of resignation to leave the Ministry on January 5, 2023.
His sudden resignation caused a ruckus in politics as people debated why he left such a prestigious position in the government.
The leadership of GUTA released a press release honouring the Industrial specialist at the Ministry of Trade and Industry as the designated spokesperson for the Traders Union in Ghana.
The leaving Trade and Industry Minister was praised as a great leader and political genius in a statement released by the GUTA leadership.
"The sudden resignation of the Trade and Industry Minister, Hon. Alan Kyerematen, has severely grieved the Ghana Union of Traders' Associations (GUTA).
Everyone who knows him or has had contact with him would witness to the fact that he is a shrewd politician, a very humble public servant, and knowledgeable in his line of work.
combined with exceptional interpersonal skills that have won him the admiration of everyone he has come into contact with on business and industrial concerns, particularly those of us in the private sector.
He delivered a fantastic performance and made a lasting impression that will live on in our memory, we can say with confidence. So, according to GUTA, we consider him as a benefit not just to Ghana but also to the continental and sub-regional blocs, as well as to the entire world.
Hon. Alan Kyerematen served as a trade minister under HE John Agyekum Kuffuor from 2003 to 2007, and he will serve in the same capacity again from 2017 to 2023.
His extensive background in the Trade and Industry Ministry led to his promotion to a number of international platforms for initiatives promoting global Trade and Industrial push.
