Raphinha, a former Leeds United winger, is said to be available for negotiation with Barcelona. The international player from Brazil only recently moved to Camp Nou in the summer, but he has had trouble making an impression on the La Liga heavyweights.
Journalist Jose Alvarez stated to El Chiringuito TV that they will consider offers for him during the January transfer window. Xavi's team may lose more than just him this offseason; Ansu Fati and former Manchester City forward Ferran Torres are also rumored to be available.
It has been confirmed by Barcelona and Leeds that Raphinha will transfer to the Spanish club in a deal worth up to €65 million (£55 million/$65 million). In order to finalize his transfer to La Liga, the Brazil winger will now have a medical and sign a contract with Barcelona on Wednesday that will last until 2027.
Raphinha was also being pursued by Chelsea and Arsenal, but after two years in England, he ultimately decided to quit the Premier League.
Raphinha agreement is confirmed by Barcelona and Leeds
A statement on Leeds' website that reads, "We can announce that an agreement in principle has been reached with FC Barcelona for the transfer of Raphinha," states that an agreement has been struck with Barca for the sale of Raphinha.
Raphinha has his heart set on Barcelona, despite previous links to Chelsea, and discussions to bring him to Barcelona have been ongoing since Sunday.
The Brazilian had a choice of clubs to join after receiving an identical offer from the Blues and Barcelona.
Given Barca's financial difficulties, the move comes as a bit of a surprise, but it has been a long time coming ever since Raphinha and the Blaugrana agreed on personal teams back in May.
"The player will now undergo a medical in Spain.?"
Barca have released a statement of their own ahead of Raphinha's move being made official, with the winger's unveiling in front of Camp Nou supporters then due to be arranged
