Chelsea are getting closer to signing Joao Felix on a loan deal that will last until the end of the 22/23 season, according to football.london.
The West Londoners have a verbal agreement with the Portugal international for a fee of around €11 million (£9.7 million).
Todd Boehly has brought in Benoit Badiashile, David Datro Fofana, and Andrey Santos this month to help Graham Potter strengthen his squad, with reports claiming that the Blues aren't done in the transfer window just yet.Chelsea has struggled to score goals this season, and as a result, they are tenth in the table. A change in form is required if they are to finish in the Top Four of the Premier League, and a new forward can help.
The decision of what shirt number a new signing will wear before making their Chelsea debut always excites fans, and that excitement continued while Felix's move was finalized.
The following are some possible numbers Felix could wear for the London-based outfit.
The 23-year-old currently wears the number 7 shirt for Atletico Madrid, which is currently occupied by Ngolo Kante, so No. 11 is the early favorite, as Nos. 2 and 3 are unlikely to be selected. If Felix declines the No. 11, the next available number is No. 15. Kurt Zouma was the most recent Chelsea player to wear the number, which had previously been worn by Victor Moses, Mohamed Salah, and Kevin De Bruyne.
The following shirt numbers are currently available to the Ex-Benfica Wonderkid: 2, 3, 11, 15, 25, and 31.
