The reason Ghana lost the 2009 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) championship against DR Congo in the Ivory Coast has been described by former Ghana goalie Fatau Dauda.

He competed with the original Black Stars B team, which has since changed its name to Black Galaxies, and made it all the way to the championship game.

The former AshantiGold goalie thinks that more than a lack of talent, Ghana lost the championship game because the players disobeyed the coach's orders.

When given instructions to perform on the field, "sometimes we the players are really tough. We'll go and do a different thing, then the coaches are having issues," he said in an interview with Joy Sports.

"Perhaps they'll tell you to do this or that; it's about tactics; we'll go and do something else, but we'll sit back and say, 'Maybe the coach didn't do well, or the technical staff don't know [anything], but most of the players we don't listen.

"By that time, Milo, a reputable coach, was leading the senior national team to success. I'm very certain that the players' lack of discipline and poor tactical decisions are to blame.

When the Black Galaxies begin their season on January 15 against Madagascar, they will be aiming to capture Ghana's first-ever CHAN championship in Algeria.

The head of NSA discusses their demand for $2 million from Ghana's World Cup funds.

The National Sports Authority's Director General, Professor Peter Twumasi, has explained why the organization is requesting $2 million from Ghana's World Cup money.

Ghana received $9 million for taking part in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Ghana finished last in Group H in the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Out of three group matches, the Ghanaian Black Stars only triumphed against South Korea.

Professor Peter Twumasi stated in an interview that his organization had asked the Ministry of Youth and Sports for a portion of Ghana's World Cup finances because of its crucial role in qualification.

"The NSA made a significant preparation-related contribution to the Black Stars' ability to qualify for the World Cup and even the AFCON. All we're saying is that with the $2 million from the World Cup, we can gear up for future significant events since we have AFCON and World Cup qualifiers coming up, he told Happy FM.

Additionally, Prof. Twumasi stated that they require the funds to expand their maintenance operations and other ventures.

"The NSA has a wide range of duties; we work nationally and oversee all athletic events in the nation. The NSA oversees the planning, infrastructure construction, and marketing for all national sporting events.

Under the direction of His Excellency President Nana Akufo Addo, the Accra Sports Stadium, for instance, had some repairs, but more has to be done.

There is a lot to be done, and the money gained by GPL clubs and the money earmarked for NSA from the national budget are insufficient to fund operations. As a result, he concluded, "We need everyone's help."
