One of the strongest rivalries in the Premier League is the North London derby, and former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has given his predictions for the match.

On Sunday afternoon, Mikel Arteta's team will play against Antonio Conte's Tottenham, and the Italian coach is aiming to prevent his Spanish colleague from expanding his advantage at the top of the standings.
Despite Spurs having played one extra game, there are currently 11 points separating the two teams.

Both teams advanced to the FA Cup's fourth round.
Harry Kane's goal in the second half was enough to defeat Portsmouth, while Eddie Nketiah's two goals against Oxford gave Arsenal a 3-0 triumph.

However, the pair's league form has been drastically different.
While Tottenham is outside of the Champions League spots following a discouraging 2-0 loss to Aston Villa and 2-2 draw with Brentford, Arsenal has soared to the top of the table after a string of outstanding performances.

Spurs supporters will be hoping that their team's statement 4-0 victory against Crystal Palace will inspire them to go out and defeat Arsenal this weekend.

Parlour's forecast

Ray Parlour anticipates a close encounter at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium despite Arsenal's strong recent play and believes the game will result in a draw.

Form goes out the window in the North London Derby, the parlour warned Lord Ping.
"It's a game that's more for the supporters. Tottenham are struggling right now, but if they get a result in the derby, that may turn their season around. The most difficult game of our season, which normally occurred against Manchester United, wasn't played during my era.

The North London Derby is all about giving the fans the chance to win so they can brag about it at work on Monday.

"Of course, Arsenal will enter the game as slight favorites if they maintain the excellent form they've displayed of late. I anticipate a 1–1 draw as the result.

Despite a bad run of form and some terrible displays recently, Parlour thinks Conte should continue leading Tottenham.
