After introducing Joao Felix in the WRONG language, Chelsea is criticized

The new addition to Chelsea After the Blues mistakenly greeted Joao Felix in the wrong language on Wednesday, he did not quite get the warm welcome he would have anticipated at his new club.

Despite the fact that the Atletico Madrid loanee is a 28-time Portugal international, Chelsea's Twitter account welcomed him to Stamford Bridge in Spanish after his agreement to join the club until the end of the season was finalized.

Felix expressed his happiness at joining Graham Potter's team on Wednesday and showed up right away for training. Felix's fans will be hoping that the 23-year-old can put an end to their recent string of high-profile front-line failures.

After the club agreed to pay a £9 million loan fee and Felix's whole £5.3 million salary for the duration of his stay in west London, Felix officially signed with Chelsea on January 11.

However, rather than using the Portuguese phrase "Ola" to greet someone, the Chelsea account tweeted: "#HolaFelix," using the Spanish term for hello.

Although the club was eager to post a number of new pictures of its newest addition, the normal hashtag was not present.

And as soon as they noticed the mistake, fans pointed it out. One wrote: "#HolaFelix" lads you might want to double check his nationality."

"F*** sake, he's not even Spanish," said another. Why is #HolaFélix trending on social media? only now became aware.

They believe that Portuguese speakers speak Spanish, a fourth Twitter user alleged. Not surprising, given that it's an English club.

But for one supporter, it was obviously a grave error.

they were moved to write, "Just fire this media team."

The Portuguese superstar has struggled in the Spanish capital after moving there from Benfica for a reported £114 million, making him one of the most expensive players in history.

Felix has yet to dominate LaLiga despite displaying glimmers of the promise and potential that Diego Simeone's team saw in him in 2019.

His best performance for the storied red-and-white Atleti came in the 2020–21 league campaign, when he made 13 contributions (seven goals, six assists), frequently working in a striking duo in the Argentine manager's preferred 4–4–2 system.

The 23-year-performance old's in the World Cup hinted that he still had a lot to offer, but this season has been no different, with just four goals and three assists in 14 LaLiga outings.
