According to polls, former England captain David Beckham is the all-time most overrated athlete.
Beckham played for some of the top football teams in the world during the course of his illustrious 21-year career, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Paris Saint-Germain.
When Beckham joined MLS team LA Galaxy in 2007, he also became the first well-known player to relocate to the United States of America.
Beckham won a wide variety of trophies throughout his career, including six Premier League championships, one La Liga championship, one Ligue 1 championship, and one Champions League.
In addition, Beckham has earned one of the most caps for England and has held the position of captain under various coaches.
Beckham, though, was chosen as the greatest athlete of all time in a poll by The Top Tens.
His goal/game ratio for England is awful, and the only significant opponent he managed to score against by fortunate penalty was Argentina.
"After he joined Real Madrid, the team experienced its worst stretch in years.
While he was there, they failed to go to the knockout round of the Champions League.

Totally overrated, a different commenter continued. He was a good player, but, really, he never enjoyed the superstar success that many claimed he did because he couldn't play as well as Pele or any other dominant soccer great.
Beckham "doesn't stand a chance against anyone in legacy or greatness when compared to the soccer legends and living legends like Messi."
Other sportsmen who made the list include soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, basketball players LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal, golfer Michelle Wie West, and NFL quarterback Eli Manning.
