Winneba University of Education was ranked the most sustainable university in Ghana by the GreenMetric World University Rankings for the year 2022. The university is also ranked as the 986th most sustainable university in the world. The level is divided into six categories namely;
* Environment and resources
* Energy and climate change
* Garbage
* Water
* Transportation
* Education
Each of these categories has its own weighting factor.
GreenMetric UI collects data from online surveys. Once all the participants have answered certain questions within the specified time, the experts and UI GreenMetric evaluators confirm the answers based on
testimonials provided by participants.
The UI GreenMetric World University Ranking was introduced in 2010 as a non-profit project by the University of Indonesia. It is published every year as a proof of the university's commitment to efforts and efforts for sustainability around the world.
He is currently focusing on the state and policies related to green fields and support in universities around the world. Since its inception, it has been increasingly recognized as the first and only university level of sustainability, and participating universities have used it to monitor and improve their sustainability efforts. University of Indonesia GreenMetric draws inspiration from ranking systems including Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE), QS World University Rankings, Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) and Webometrics Ranking of World Universities (Webometrics).

The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings is a ranking of green campuses and environmental sustainability initiatives
Universitas Indonesia in 2010. From 39 indicators and 6 points, the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings conservatively determined the quality based on the university' environmental commitment and policies. The ranking saw a dramatic increase in those from 95 universities in 35 countries in 2010 for 956 universities in 80 countries in 2021.
